The Global Fishing Watch Science Advisory Board comprises six distinguished, world-leading experts charged with facilitating the rigorous, independent scientific inquiry to advance the organization’s mission to improve ocean governance. From pioneering machine learning applications to interpreting complex geospatial data and redefining the bioeconomics of global fisheries, these scholars advise the Global Fishing Watch board of directors, executive team and chief scientist on research, technology and the application of science in ocean management. The board’s primary role is safeguarding the organization’s scientific integrity and technical credibility, ensuring its data-driven insights maintain the innovation and rigor needed to drive impact on the water.
