New Account Settings and Security

Global Fishing Watch accounts now support two-factor authentication and passkeys. A new settings page brings your account details, email preferences and security options together in one place. This optional security feature provides extra protection for your datasets, saved workspaces and account details. Because your account covers both the map and APIs, these options apply wherever you sign in.
What this means for you
- Optional two-factor authentication is now available, adding an extra security check when you sign in. Standard login flow is maintained for accounts with this feature turned off.
- A passkey lets you sign in with the method you already use to unlock your device, rather than typing a password.
- You can now update your details, change email preferences or close your account without contacting support.
What is included
- Two-factor authentication is off by default. Enable it in account settings under “User Info”.
- Passkeys offer an alternative to signing in with a password.
- A settings page covers personal details, email preferences, two-factor authentication, passkeys and account deletion.
What is included
Sign in to the map, open the “User Info” panel, and select the desired settings. The page opens in a new tab and is available in every language the platform supports.
