Eloy is a fisheries analyst for Global Fishing Watch in Central and South America, he supports the Peruvian transparency program working closely with government institutions such as the Ministry of Production, the Ministry of Environment and Customs. He obtained his BSc in Fishing Engineering from the National Agrarian University La Molina in Peru, where his thesis focused on tracking the Chinese squid jigging vessels in the South East Pacific. Previously Eloy worked at The Marine Institute of Peru and Oceana. Eloy has relatives who are artisanal fishermen and he has always felt strong ties to the sea. In his spare time Eloy enjoys diving and recreational fishing with his college friends and he loves to bike into Peru’s highlands.
