As of 1 August 2024, the previous AIS data pipeline will be updated for 6 months, until 28 February 2025. After that, the data will remain available for 3 years, until 1 March 2028.

  • Using the Global Fishing Watch platform: Workspaces in the Global Fishing Watch platform will continue to include previous data until updated. When any workspace is loaded, you will receive a prompt to update your workspace to include the latest data and feature improvements. Note, some vessel identity and activity information may change to reflect changes in vessel classification and event estimation.
  • Using the public APIs: when making a request to any endpoint, you need to update the dataset parameter from latest to v20231026, as the alias latest now points to the new API data pipeline version v3. More information.
