As director of program delivery, Geoffrey Muldoon works closely with the chief program officer to provide oversight and strategic guidance to Global Fishing Watch’s regional teams in Africa, Asia, the Pacific and the Mediterranean. Guided by the implementation of the organization’s strategic priorities, Muldoon supports the regional leads to deliver outcomes that enhance transparency, advance policy and strengthen ocean governance. As a member of the senior management team, Muldoon works across divisions to align efforts under organizational goals in support of improved transparency and ocean governance, leading to a more healthy and resilient ocean. 

With a background in economics and more than 20 years of experience in the conservation sector, Muldoon spent the last 16 years at World Wildlife Fund, stationed throughout Asia, Australia and the U.S., working primarily at the nexus between fisheries and aquaculture and markets. His cumulative experience in fisheries management and aquatic foods extends from small-scale inshore fisheries to industrial fisheries, encompassing a broad spectrum of topics including: corporate partnerships, livelihoods and food security, as well as traceability and certification standards.. 

Muldoon received his doctorate in natural resource management and fisheries economics from James Cook University in 2007. He completed his undergraduate degree in economics and geography at the University of Tasmania before undertaking postgraduate studies in applied economics at the University of Queensland.
