Edaysi is the fishery analysis manager for Latin America at Global Fishing Watch. She is in charge of providing analysis of data from the automatic identification system (AIS) and vessel monitoring systems (VMS) to support partners in the region, as well as providing training in the use of Global Fishing Watch products. Edaysi works on analysis projects directly with the technical teams of Panama, Peru, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador and Brazil, where work plans have been created to ensure the application of Global Fishing Watch products for monitoring, control and surveillance, as well as for the verification of vessel activities to discourage illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing and generate analysis of the spatial and temporal distribution of domestic fleets.

Prior to joining Global Fishing Watch, Edaysi worked for four years at the National Commission of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Mexico, where she contributed to the development and publication of nationally applicable fisheries regulations to strengthen responsible fisheries management. Within her work, she acquired experience in the area of ​​fisheries policy, collaboration with multiple actors from the fisheries sector and from academia and non-governmental organizations, as well as contributing to training on the national regulatory framework. Edaysi has a master of environmental science and management with a specialization in coastal marine resources management from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She enjoys skateboarding, working out and traveling during her free time.
