Annie Mejaes

Annie supports the product development team in the execution and maintenance of Global Fishing Watch’s map and marine manager portal, helping to advance ocean governance through access to open ocean data. She works with external stakeholders to cultivate feedback channels, coordinates the design and delivery of training on Global Fishing Watch products and reviews product analytics.

Prior to Global Fishing Watch, Annie pursued a master of science degree in resources, environment and sustainability at the University of British Columbia, with a focus on fisheries economics. Annie has also conducted marine conservation, environmental and geospatial work across government agencies, nongovernmental organizations and academia in Hong Kong, Chile and the United States. In her spare time, Annie enjoys swimming in the nearest body of water, diving, exploring new cuisines and spending time with her family and friends.
