Matt Gummery

Matt Gummery is senior manager of product development at Global Fishing Watch. Matt leads product development for the Global Fishing Watch map and marine manager portal with an aim to empower stakeholders in management, research and analysis through development and improvement of dynamic ocean data and tools. 

Previously, Matt led policy development for the Marine Stewardship Council to safeguard endangered, threatened or protected species. He worked on projects to incentivize fisheries to adopt science and management best practices and minimize ecosystem impacts. Matt has a masters of research and a bachelor of science in marine biology and oceanography. Outside of work, he enjoys travel, diving, cooking, hiking and music.
