Floriane has worked for more than 10 years in marine conservation in Central Africa. With the Wildlife Conservation Society, she led a program on small-scale fisheries in Gabon and supported the government in marine protected area network creation. She obtained her PhD in fisheries sciences at Université de Bretagne Occidentale (France) and her research focused on small-scale fisheries in Gabon with an emphasis on developing models to detect fishing locations of small wooden boats and their links with marine protected areas. Floriane is passionate about the ocean, couldn’t live far away from it and is concerned about its sustainable use. She is now working with Global Fishing Watch to extend fishery transparency in Central Africa.
