Global Fishing Watch collecte et analyse les donn\u00e9es AIS transmises par les navires pour comprendre l&rsquo;activit\u00e9 mondiale des navires.<\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Les donn\u00e9es AIS incluent l\u2019identit\u00e9, l\u2019emplacement, la vitesse, le cap d\u2019un navire, etc., collect\u00e9es via un r\u00e9seau mondial de r\u00e9cepteurs satellites et terrestres. Global Fishing Watch traite quotidiennement des milliards de messages AIS, en se concentrant sur les navires susceptibles d\u2019\u00eatre des navires de p\u00eache en fonction de leurs habitudes de d\u00e9placement et des informations de leur registre. \u00c0 l\u2019aide d\u2019algorithmes d\u2019apprentissage machine, Global Fishing Watch classe (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/doi.org\/10.1126\/science.aao5646\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kroodsma et al. 2018<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) le type de navire et d\u00e9duit l\u2019activit\u00e9 de p\u00eache \u00e0 partir de caract\u00e9ristiques telles que les changements de vitesse et de cap.<\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Les \u00e9v\u00e9nements de p\u00eache apparents sont cr\u00e9\u00e9s en agr\u00e9geant des points de donn\u00e9es d&rsquo;effort de p\u00eache apparent individuels en \u00ab\u00a0\u00e9v\u00e9nements\u00a0\u00bb group\u00e9s, ce qui rend les donn\u00e9es plus faciles \u00e0 visualiser et \u00e0 analyser.<\/span>\n\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Un \u00e9v\u00e9nement de p\u00eache apparent est d\u00e9fini lorsque\u00a0:<\/span>\n<div class=\"list1\">\n<ul>\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Les positions de p\u00eache apparaissent cons\u00e9cutivement et sont s\u00e9par\u00e9es de moins de 10 kilom\u00e8tres ou 2 heures, et\u00a0;<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Les positions de p\u00eache situ\u00e9es \u00e0 1 heure et 2 kilom\u00e8tres d&rsquo;un autre \u00e9v\u00e9nement de p\u00eache sont regroup\u00e9es en un seul \u00e9v\u00e9nement.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">L\u2019ensemble de donn\u00e9es est davantage restreint en supprimant les \u00e9v\u00e9nements de p\u00eache qui sont brefs et rapides, car ils sont moins susceptibles de constituer de r\u00e9elles indications d\u2019un \u00e9v\u00e9nement de p\u00eache. De nombreux navires \u00e0 petite \u00e9chelle ou artisanaux ne sont pas \u00e9quip\u00e9s d\u2019AIS et ne sont donc pas pris en compte dans le calque d\u2019effort de p\u00eache apparent bas\u00e9 sur l\u2019AIS.<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Transmissions intermittentes\u00a0:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Les diffusions AIS sont plus fr\u00e9quentes et d\u00e9tectables avec les appareils de classe A, qui sont courants sur les plus gros navires. Les appareils de classe B (utilis\u00e9s par les petits navires) ont des signaux plus faibles et sont re\u00e7us de mani\u00e8re moins fiable, en particulier par satellite. Lorsqu\u2019un navire transmet de mani\u00e8re intermittente, les positions des navires qui sont pr\u00e9dits comme des navires de p\u00eache peuvent \u00eatre associ\u00e9es \u00e0 des dur\u00e9es disproportionn\u00e9es, ce qui peut conduire \u00e0 des pr\u00e9dictions excessives ou insuffisantes de l&rsquo;effort de p\u00eache.<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Interf\u00e9rences de signal et \u00e9carts de r\u00e9ception\u00a0:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Dans les zones de trafic maritime dense, les signaux AIS peuvent se chevaucher et interf\u00e9rer, r\u00e9duisant ainsi la d\u00e9tection par satellite des transmissions individuelles.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>D\u00e9sactivation ou falsification d\u00e9lib\u00e9r\u00e9e\u00a0:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Le syst\u00e8me AIS peut \u00eatre d\u00e9sactiv\u00e9 ou falsifi\u00e9 d\u00e9lib\u00e9r\u00e9ment, ce qui entra\u00eene des positions erron\u00e9es ou des identit\u00e9s partag\u00e9es.<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Qualit\u00e9 des donn\u00e9es et d\u00e9lai de mise \u00e0 jour\u00a0:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Tous les fournisseurs ne capturent pas ou ne partagent pas des ensembles de donn\u00e9es AIS complets. Les stations terrestres peuvent enregistrer les messages moins fr\u00e9quemment, et la couverture des donn\u00e9es satellites est in\u00e9gale.<\/span><\/li>\n \t<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b style=\"font-style: inherit;\">Interpr\u00e9tation au fil du temps\u00a0:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Les augmentations ou les diminutions de l\u2019activit\u00e9 apparente pourraient refl\u00e9ter un changement dans l\u2019utilisation de l\u2019AIS, un changement dans l\u2019acc\u00e8s aux stations terrestres ou \u00e0 l\u2019AIS dynamique, ou la qualit\u00e9 de la r\u00e9ception plut\u00f4t que des changements r\u00e9els dans le comportement de p\u00eache. Les \u00e9v\u00e9nements de p\u00eache apparents sont des regroupements de positions d\u2019effort de p\u00eache individuelles et sont destin\u00e9s \u00e0 refl\u00e9ter une gamme de comportements li\u00e9s \u00e0 la p\u00eache, tels que la recherche ou la pr\u00e9paration des engins, et pas seulement le d\u00e9ploiement ou la r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration des engins. Ces \u00e9v\u00e9nements ne doivent pas \u00eatre interpr\u00e9t\u00e9s comme des relev\u00e9s pr\u00e9cis de la pose ou du relevage des engins. De plus, \u00e9tant donn\u00e9 que les r\u00e8gles de regroupement ne sont pas sp\u00e9cifiques \u00e0 l\u2019engin et ne s\u2019adaptent pas \u00e0 la qualit\u00e9 du signal AIS, certaines positions peuvent \u00eatre regroup\u00e9es de mani\u00e8re arbitraire.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Biais dans l\u2019identification des navires et la classification des engins\u00a0:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Des erreurs de classification dans le type de navire peuvent survenir en raison de donn\u00e9es d\u2019enregistrement de navires incoh\u00e9rentes ou incompl\u00e8tes. Des erreurs de classification peuvent se produire lorsque les algorithmes ont du mal \u00e0 cat\u00e9goriser correctement les navires, par exemple lorsque les navires utilisent plusieurs engins (modifiant ainsi leurs mod\u00e8les de comportement) ou lorsque le num\u00e9ro MMSI (identit\u00e9 du service mobile maritime) d&rsquo;un navire est utilis\u00e9 par plus d&rsquo;un navire. Dans ces cas, le recyclage MMSI peut entra\u00eener une mauvaise classification du type de navire par notre mod\u00e8le de classification des navires. Une classification erron\u00e9e du type de navire peut entra\u00eener la pr\u00e9sence ou l\u2019absence inattendue de navires dans les estimations d\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nements de p\u00eache apparents.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>\u00c9v\u00e9nements de p\u00eache apparents vs effort de p\u00eache apparent\u00a0:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Les \u00e9v\u00e9nements de p\u00eache apparents regroupent les positions de p\u00eache apparentes cons\u00e9cutives en \u00e9v\u00e9nements r\u00e9sum\u00e9s pour une visualisation plus facile. Les filtres bas\u00e9s sur le temps, la distance et le comportement du navire, mentionn\u00e9s ci-dessus, peuvent exclure certaines positions de p\u00eache.
