Esta falta de transparencia genera graves puntos ciegos para los gobiernos, los gestores pesqueros y las comunidades costeras que trabajan para proteger los ecosistemas marinos y garantizar pr\u00e1cticas de pesca sostenibles.<\/p><p>Sin un seguimiento fiable de las embarcaciones, las autoridades se enfrentan a grandes dificultades para monitorear la actividad en extensas \u00e1reas oce\u00e1nicas, detectar comportamientos ilegales y aplicar las normativas de manera eficaz. Actualmente, los sistemas de seguimiento son fragmentados e inconsistentes: la disparidad en las exigencias de control entre los distintos pa\u00edses crea importantes lagunas en la cobertura y en la rendici\u00f3n de cuentas. Como resultado, muchos buques operan con una visibilidad p\u00fablica escasa o nula.<\/p><p>Esta falta de transparencia dificulta la lucha contra la pesca ilegal, no declarada y no reglamentada (INDNR), una de las mayores amenazas para la sostenibilidad del oc\u00e9ano. Sin datos de seguimiento precisos y accesibles, las actividades il\u00edcitas pueden pasar desapercibidas, los esfuerzos de conservaci\u00f3n se debilitan y los recursos destinados a la vigilancia se saturan.<\/p><p>El rastreo de embarcaciones aporta informaci\u00f3n crucial sobre d\u00f3nde operan, cu\u00e1nto tiempo permanecen en zonas espec\u00edficas y qu\u00e9 actividades podr\u00edan estar realizando. Estos datos son el pilar para las tareas de monitoreo, control y vigilancia de la actividad pesquera, fortalecen los esfuerzos de conservaci\u00f3n marina y permiten tomar mejores decisiones. Adem\u00e1s, el acceso p\u00fablico a los datos de seguimiento fomenta una mayor rendici\u00f3n de cuentas, trasladando la responsabilidad a los propios operadores de los buques, quienes deben demostrar el cumplimiento de las normativas.<\/p><p>Un acuerdo global sobre el rastreo p\u00fablico de embarcaciones establecer\u00eda un marco estandarizado de transparencia en el mar. Unificar los requisitos de control y garantizar el acceso a los datos reforzar\u00eda la aplicaci\u00f3n de la ley, respaldar\u00eda la cooperaci\u00f3n internacional y mejorar\u00eda la gobernanza oce\u00e1nica a escala mundial.<\/p><p>El futuro de la pesca sostenible depende de la transparencia.
