La sobrepesca, la contaminaci\u00f3n marina y<br \/>el cambio clim\u00e1tico est\u00e1n provocando cambios sin precedentes en el oc\u00e9ano que<br \/>podr\u00edan poner en peligro, y de forma irreversible, el funcionamiento y la vitalidad de los<br \/>ecosistemas marinos.<\/p><p>En 2015, la Organizaci\u00f3n de las Naciones Unidas estableci\u00f3 como uno de sus Objetivos<br \/>de Desarrollo Sostenible, la meta de proteger el 10 por ciento de los oc\u00e9anos del mundo<br \/>para 2020. Actualmente, solo el 2,4 por ciento del oc\u00e9ano global est\u00e1 protegido en lo<br \/>que se clasifica como \u00e1reas total o altamente protegidas seg\u00fan el Atlas de Protecci\u00f3n<br \/>Marina. Las partes firmantes de la Convenci\u00f3n de las Naciones Unidas sobre la Diversidad<br \/>Biol\u00f3gica est\u00e1n evaluando la situaci\u00f3n y adoptar\u00e1n nuevas metas como parte del marco<br \/>de biodiversidad posterior a 2020.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4cce344 elementor-invisible elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4cce344\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-settings=\"{&quot;_animation&quot;:&quot;fadeIn&quot;}\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Las AMP total o altamente protegidas son clave para conservar de manera efectiva los h\u00e1bitats cr\u00edticos, las especies y las funciones ecol\u00f3gicas esenciales para recuperar, proteger y mejorar la biodiversidad, la\u00a0 productividad y la resiliencia en el oc\u00e9ano. Cuando<br \/>se implementan y manejan adecuadamente, las AMP pueden brindar m\u00faltiples beneficios<br \/>a las personas cuyos medios de vida y tradiciones dependen de ellas.<\/p><p>Las AMP desempe\u00f1an un papel importante a la hora de abordar las amenazas que<br \/>enfrenta el oc\u00e9ano.
