400;\">Hace apenas una d\u00e9cada, la pesca ilegal, no declarada y no reglamentada estaba muy extendida entre los barcos que enarbolaban la bandera de <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/globalfishingwatch.org\/es\/belice\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Belice<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Los operadores deshonestos podr\u00edan registrar f\u00e1cilmente un buque bajo la bandera del pa\u00eds y pescar en alta mar con poca supervisi\u00f3n.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En 2012, la Uni\u00f3n Europea <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/amandala.com.bz\/news\/european-commission-yellow-cards-belize-bad-fishing-practices-high-seas\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">emiti\u00f3 una tarjeta amarilla<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a Belice por no abordar la pesca INDNR. A esto le sigui\u00f3 una <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.seafoodsource.com\/features\/how-the-iuu-red-card-helped-turned-belize-around\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">tarjeta roja en 2013<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, lo que result\u00f3 en la prohibici\u00f3n de las importaciones de productos del mar.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En respuesta, el gobierno tom\u00f3 medidas decisivas. Y dado que los datos de los buques se integraron en marzo de 2022, cualquiera puede rastrear los movimientos de m\u00e1s de 50 cerqueros, arrastreros y palangreros atuneros de Belice en alta mar.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Adem\u00e1s de aumentar la transparencia de la pesca, nuestras herramientas han mejorado significativamente la capacidad de Belice para monitorear y controlar su flota.
