Per\u00fa es una superpotencia en lo que respecta a la pesca, ocupa el segundo lugar despu\u00e9s de China en cuanto a vol\u00famenes de captura. Las aguas extraordinariamente productivas del pa\u00eds albergan la pesquer\u00eda de una sola especie m\u00e1s grande del mundo, la anchoveta, as\u00ed como otras pesquer\u00edas de importancia mundial, como el mahi-mahi y el calamar gigante.<\/p>

Para que los mares de Per\u00fa<\/a> contin\u00faen prosperando en el futuro, es vital que el pa\u00eds pueda administrar y monitorear de manera efectiva la actividad pesquera dentro de sus aguas, tanto de flotas extranjeras como nacionales.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

En 2017, Per\u00fa se convirti\u00f3 en el primer pa\u00eds de Am\u00e9rica Latina, y solo el segundo en el mundo, en <\/span>compartir datos de su sistema de seguimiento de embarcaciones<\/span><\/a> (VMS) en el mapa de Global Fishing Watch. Al compartir sus datos de seguimiento, Per\u00fa hizo p\u00fablica la ubicaci\u00f3n y los movimientos de m\u00e1s de 1.800 embarcaciones pesqueras. Esto permite un monitoreo, control y vigilancia m\u00e1s efectivos de sus aguas y tambi\u00e9n permite a los pescadores demostrar mejor el cumplimiento de las regulaciones.<\/span><\/p>

Desde 2018, todas las embarcaciones pesqueras comerciales que atracan en puertos peruanos deben utilizar dispositivos VMS. El gobierno ahora tambi\u00e9n busca hacer que la flota pesquera a peque\u00f1a escala sea m\u00e1s transparente, lo que facilitar\u00e1 que a\u00fan m\u00e1s embarcaciones sean visibles en nuestro mapa y mejorar\u00e1 la comprensi\u00f3n de lo que sucede en las aguas del pa\u00eds.<\/span><\/p>

Per\u00fa tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1 utilizando la tecnolog\u00eda Global Fishing Watch para rastrear embarcaciones utilizando im\u00e1genes nocturnas, especialmente \u00fatiles para monitorear las<\/span> pesquer\u00edas de calamar<\/span><\/a>, donde las embarcaciones usan luces brillantes durante la noche.<\/span><\/p>

Como parte de la <\/span>asociaci\u00f3n<\/span><\/a>, capacitamos a las autoridades portuarias peruanas para que utilicen nuestros datos y herramientas para abordar desaf\u00edos clave en sus aguas, incluida la persecuci\u00f3n de <\/span>casos espec\u00edficos de pesca ilegal<\/span><\/a>. Nuestros datos tambi\u00e9n han contribuido a la investigaci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica y a la designaci\u00f3n de la reserva marina m\u00e1s grande del pa\u00eds, la <\/span>Reserva Natural Dorsal de Nasca<\/span><\/a> de 60.000 kil\u00f3metros cuadrados.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
