400;\">El portal Carrier Vessel fue una soluci\u00f3n integral <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/globalfishingwatch.org\/news-views\/transshipment-monitoring\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">desarrollada en 2020<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> por Global Fishing Watch en colaboraci\u00f3n con The Pew Charitable Trusts. Mediante el monitoreo de los buques de\u00a0 transporte y sus actividades de transbordo, el portal proporcionaba informaci\u00f3n en tiempo real sobre la ubicaci\u00f3n de estos buques, sus actividades y si estas contaban con la debida autorizaci\u00f3n.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El transbordo es una parte fundamental de la industria pesquera mundial, pero a menudo se realiza en alta mar, lo que dificulta a las autoridades determinar si la captura transferida es legal y verificable. Para mejorar la comprensi\u00f3n y la gesti\u00f3n del transbordo, se desarroll\u00f3 este portal con el fin de ayudar a los responsables pol\u00edticos y a los gestores pesqueros a comprender mejor las actividades de los buques de transporte que recogen la captura de las embarcaciones pesqueras comerciales y la entregan en puertos de todo el mundo para su procesamiento.<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La herramienta se basaba en la transparencia, utilizando el Sistema de Identificaci\u00f3n Autom\u00e1tica (AIS) y datos de registro de buques para garantizar el cumplimiento de la normativa.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El portal recopilaba datos de diversos sistemas de seguimiento de embarcaciones AIS para supervisar las actividades pesqueras y de seguimiento de buques a nivel mundial.<\/span><\/li><\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Como la primera herramienta integral de monitoreo de transbordos de su tipo, el Portal Carrier Vessel aprovech\u00f3 la transparencia de las embarcaciones para fundamentar las iniciativas de gesti\u00f3n y las pol\u00edticas en todo el sector pesquero.
